Broadcast / Valium Aggelein’s “Dweller on the Threshold” Reissued

Back in the late 1990s, there was a tiny little label called Astronavigation that was trying to fend off the impending digital takeover of audio by releasing small runs of intimate home recordings only on analog formats. They rejected the idea of convenience being more important than sound quality, and believed in enjoying music as an important event. Astronavigation releases ("missions") were made for spending time with, each had packaging that invited investigation, and contained music that wasn't intended as a video game soundtrack. One of their early releases was a limited edition cassette by Valium Aggelein, that came in a spraypainted/stenciled box filled with shredded tape (from the studio sessions) and a syringe.

We have reissued this album as a free digital download (gasp!), but in the highest possible current mp3 format (320kbps). If you are a purist and want WAVs instead, we can get you those. But it's free, so come on.

Recently someone on Stereobird dug up their original cassette and turned it over to us. We're just further spreading the love with this free reissue.
