about the static cult label

The Static Cult Label is a tiny record label with no distribution, no press attention, no money, and no love for the man. Good times. We release our friends' albums.

“my band rules, can i be on tscl?”

We haven't yet released something that has been sent to us in the mail, but we appreciate the gesture. You can send demos to the address below. Don't bother with the glossy photos and wasting paper on folders and bios. Just music and contact information is fine.

“has tscl gone high tech? what are these fancy icons?”

Come on, it's not that complicated. Our releases are available in different formats, as indicated by these icons:
compact disc Compact Disc
vinyl Vinyl Record
download Download

“can i send you some money?”

Absolutely. You can also send demos, valentines, gifts, requests, or other communique to this address:
The Static Cult Label
123 Cottage Grove Avenue
San Jose, CA 95110
United States of America

“why can't i just get [band] music from iTunes and shit?”

You could. But here are some reasons why you should buy direct from TSCL whenever possible:
* TSCL packaging rules your face.
* More money goes to the artists when you buy directly from TSCL.
* DRM is annoying.
* Audio quality is better if you rip from TSCL physical products.
Recently we saw the Amazon mp3 store SELLING the El Buzzard "Songs for Total Dicks" release when you can download it from us for FREE. We aren't sure which is the better deal, but we suspect it might be our FREE version (which also includes the cover art).

“but do you have a recording studio?”

Sort of. It's not open to the public, but anyone on the label has access to it. Welcome to the big time, TSCL artists.

“Did I just hear Breasts on a WNBA commercial?”

Maybe.
